In 1978, Gualtiero and Franca purchased a piece of land in Bricco San Pietro with woods and fields to build their home. An innovator since birth, Gualtiero constructed the home to be heated entirely with solar energy, one of the first residential buildings in Italy to be heated with solar energy technology. Passionate about ecology and botany he eventually built the Casa on the property to be used as a School of Ecology.

Immersed in the lush greenery of the Langhe hills with majestic views of the snowcapped Alps, the Casa, having been transformed into a holiday residence, is a place to relax and enjoy the silence of nature. Ideally located in Monforte at the crossroads of the hiking trails, the Casa is the perfect starting point to discover this marvelous territory on foot or by bike.

Gualtiero and Franca had a large family who continue the passion for these breathtaking hills.

Their daughter-in-law, Marilena, will take care of making your stay comfortable and relaxing. All lovers of hiking or mountain biking will enjoy the trails and the little villages dotted along them where you can taste the best cuisine of the Langhe. Return from your adventures to the Casa in time to enjoy the sunset over the Alps, a stunning sight, from the picturesque porch.

Accomodations

Their names recall the plants that surround La Casa and their neutral colour palatte inspire serenity and quiet.
All the apartments have independent entrances found under the porticoes of the large terrace that circles La Casa. From the terrace, a magnificent panorama can be appreciated.
The apartments also have private outdoor relaxation areas, furnished with patio tables and chairs. Sun beds, perfect for lounging, can be found in the surrounding lawn area.
The Acero and Quercia apartments have particularly ample relaxation areas.

The forest is our refuge. We love hiking paths listening for the sounds the plants and animals in nature.

Among the leaves of the oaks and chestnuts, woodpeckers, owls, hoopoes and falcons make their nests; at their roots, black and white truffles grow. In the undergrowth, rare and wild orchids sprout.

At dawn and dusk glimpse, the roe deer who come out of the forest to munch on the lawn behind the Casa. They are long-time residents of the forest.

The Area

Le Sette Vie is located 1.8 km from in Monforte d’Alba, recognized in 2018 as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. It is in the heart of the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage
Within our municipality there are seven hiking trails you can enjoy to discover the area.
Suitable for the whole family, these paths are steps away from the Casa and will guide you through the other villages of the Langhe famous for food and wine. Walk to Barolo, Novello, La Morra, Serralunga, Grinzane and Roddino while enjoying view after view of the beautiful landscape of vineyards, fields and the distant Mont Viso, the highest peak in lower Piedmont.
